Peter Lowe has practised as a barrister for more than 23 years, appearing as defence counsel in numerous criminal trials in State and Commonwealth matters during that time. He is an experienced jury advocate. He has appeared in over 60 appeals in the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal and other appellate courts.

He has written extensively about challenges for the jury system in the 21st century and has published articles in both Australia and England about that topic. He has argued a number of appeals before the High Court concerning the implied freedom of political communication under the Australian Constitution.

Recently he was appointed a NSW Crown Prosecutor.
