Neil graduated with a Bachelor of Law from the University of New South Wales and then went on to complete his Masters at the University of Newcastle and also obtain a Bachelor of Theology from Moore College.
Neil is the Associate Professor at the University of Newcastle’s Law School where he primarily researches and teaches in Torts, Workplace Health and Safety Law and Law and Religion. He is also a member of the National OHS Regulatory Research Consortium Australia and was appointed on the Editorial Board of the Torts Law Journal.
Neil also has vast publications experience and has over 50 publications in the forms of books, chapters, journal articles and conferences to his name. In 2012 he published a book titled ‘Workplace Health & Safety Law in Australia’ whereby the law relating to workplace health and safety as well as the contract of employment, common law tort actions, worker’s compensation law and anti-discrimination law are covered. On a more recent note, he has been developing research in controversial Law and Religious issues such as same-sex marriage.
