Abdul is a director and Principal Solicitor at District Legal. Having graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws, he was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2018, and a solicitor of the High Court of Australia in 2024.
Abdul began his legal career working for a private suburban law firm in matters involving civil disputes and conveyancing. Following his admission, Abdul worked as a solicitor with the Legal Aid Commission of New South Wales, ultimately rising to the ranks of Senior Solicitor. At Legal Aid, Abdul worked in both the criminal law and civil law divisions where he advised and represented clients from a range of disadvantaged backgrounds, often with a convolution of legal issues.
Abdul's experience in criminal law extends to securing positive outcomes in a wide range of criminal and traffic matters, hundreds of successful bail applications, not guilty verdicts in complex hearings, numerous successful mental health diversions and in-depth knowledge of domestic violence provisions and applications.
Abdul's experience in civil law includes visa cancellations, refusals and applications, tenancy and housing disputes, consumer disputes and guardianship matters, amongst a general civil practice.
